Bookings & Deposits

Quotes by The Sweet Cake Collection are valid for 1 month from the date they are issued. Confirmation of booking only occurs when a 50% deposit has been received by The Sweet Cake Collection. Please bear in mind that the date is still available to others until the deposit has been received by The Sweet Cake Collection.

The balance of payment is required no less than 14 days from the date of cake delivery. Payment is via direct deposit.

​

Cancellations & Alterations

​

All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations 60 days in advance of delivery will have any incurred costs and consultation fees deducted from the deposit. Cancellations less than 60 days will forfeit the deposit. After final payment has been made, no cancellations will be accepted. If payment is not received at the agreed schedule noted on your invoice, we reserve the right to terminate our agreement. Notice of this will be provided to you in writing.

Once a booking is secured, changes to design may be accepted at our discretion up to 30 days prior to your event and may be subject to additional cost. Cake & filling flavours must be locked in no later than 14 days prior to your delivery date, Changes will not be accepted after this time.

​

We offer “tasting boxes” for wedding cakes so that you can determine which flavour you would like for your cake.  These tasting boxes are complimentary for wedding cakes and $30 for engagement and other cakes subject to availability and will be offered and advertised approximately every 3 months. Tasting boxes are available for pickup only.

Allergies & Intolerances

 

All cakes are made with whole flour, butter, fresh eggs and white refined sugar – so if any of your guests have an intolerance to any of these products, it is your responsibility to advise them that they should not eat the cake. The Sweet Cake Collection will not be held responsible for allergies to any of our products. All cakes are baked using the same utensils and equipment that are in contact with gluten, nuts, dairy soy and other allergens.

Delivery & Setup

Delivery or pickup options and costs will be discussed at quote stage of the process.

 

A storage and handling instruction sheet will be provided on receipt of the cake. At the time of delivery, please ensure that your wedding venue coordinator, or a family member, is present to “accept” the cake, who is prepared to sign that it is in good condition at the time of delivery.  If no-one is present at the time of delivery, it will be generally accepted that the cake was in good condition at the time of delivery. No responsibility is taken for the cake after signing of the delivery sheet.

 

Should any object be placed on your cake, The Sweet Cake Collection voids all liability and responsibility for the cake including but not limited to food safety and structural integrity.

 

Refunds

​

If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason, please call us on the day of your event and explain the situation. In the rare case that you are unhappy with your cake and would like a refund, you must call the day of your event so your cake can be returned. Without proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment. We reserve the final right to determine if a cake is faulty, damaged or not as ordered.

Other

I am unable to do licenced cakes due to copyright laws.

I will not copy another cake design. I am happy to use pictures of other cakes as inspiration, but I will not give you a cake that is exactly the same. I like to give my customers something that is uniquely theirs for their special occasion.

All designs and sketches remain the property of The Sweet Cake Collection. The Sweet Cake Collection reserves the right to use and publish any photos of your cake that are taken by us for promotional use.
